The Assistant Nurse Director (AND) is an important member of the unit-based leadership team in clinical practice environments to extend leadership presence and provide clinical support. In this role the Assistant Nurse Director provides nursing leadership supporting the Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular specialties of the Operating Room at Brigham and Women's Hospital.

Under the leadership of the Nurse Director of the Operating Room, the AND is a representative of the Department of Nursing and supports the Nurse Director in translating the vision and values of the department.


  • Current nursing licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts 
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) required
  • Perioperative experience required with a minimum of 3 years direct Operating Room experience.
  • Cardiac/Thoracic/Vascular experience is required.
  • Leadership experience strongly preferred CNOR preferred
