Job Purpose:

The Nurse Educator position will specifically be assigned to develop a New Graduate Nurse Residency / Transition to Practice Program. The Residency will be designed to align with national standards: a one-year program to include specialty specific clinical time with a preceptor. The content of the classroom will be developed by this position, in collaboration with nursing leadership. And this position will work with local leadership to develop specialty specific clinical orientation; areas included are peri-operative services, ambulatory care, psychiatry, critical care, emergency and medical/surgical areas. Additionally, there will be opportunities to teach in the Preceptor Workshop and other centrally managed education programs.


Education/Training: BSN Required. Matriculated in MSN program required.

Licensure: Current Massachusetts license as a Registered Nurse

Certifications: Specialty Certification or Professional Development Specialist Certification required. American Heart Association BLS certification required; AHA Instructor BLS strongly preferred

Work Experience: 5 years' clinical experience required. 3 years' education/program planning experience preferred
