The Clinical Manager of the Saints Emergency Department is an amazing opportunity for a dynamic RN leader interested in joining a transformational nursing leadership team.  This role requires a strategic thinker, strong communicator and problem solver and will provide clinical oversight of the Emergency Department and Rapid Response Program at Saints Campus

The Lowell General Hospital Emergency Departments takes a multidisciplinary team approach, relying on a staff of Registered Nurses, ED Techs, Mental Health Techs, Board Certified Emergency Department Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Respiratory Therapy, Phlebotomy, Radiology and CT Techs and Security staff.  Saints ED statistics include: 

  • 40,000 visits annually
  • 24 licensed beds with an Ambulatory Care area
  • Certified Stroke Center
  • Primary Angioplasty Program with transfer protocol

Will work closely with the Director of Emergency Services in supporting the shared vision for the ED. Develops and sustains an environment that promotes excellence in clinical practice and customer satisfaction, while striving for optimal efficiency, productivity and utilization of all staff to meet the needs of the diverse critical care environment.

The Clinical Manager utilizes the nursing process, leadership skills and current evidence based clinical knowledge to assess the needs of the departments, collaborate with health team members to coordinate patient care and set criteria for the quality of patient care. 

Will lead through change both planned and unplanned, build consensus when appropriate, motivate and encourage others. Responsible to maintain an inclusive workplace; maximizes contributions of all employees, and develop strengths in all team members.

Responsible for staff development, education and performance improvement as well as hiring, counseling and coaching staff, providing disciplinary actions, positively interacting with medical staff and support services during times of stress and constant change.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: 

  • BSN required, MSN preferred
  • BLS and ACLS required 
  • TNCC and ENPC required
  • CEN and CPEN preferred
  • 5 years Nursing Experience including Emergency Department 
  • Prior proven experience and expertise in management, either in first line or in shift supervisory work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster teamwork and facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Excellent verbal and written skills for high level communication within the hospital and at interdisciplinary and administrative meetings.
  • Experience developing written proposals, preparing budgets, writing evaluations and developing standards and Performance Improvement (PI) reports.
