2024 Membership Month Activities

Member-Get-a-Member Campaign & ContestMember-Get-A-Member Recruitment

March 2024 brings our 8th annual ONL Member-Get-a-Member recruitment campaign and contest! Throughout the month of March, members will score a point for each new member or renewing member they refer. At the end of the month, the member with the most points will win our Grand Prize - registration and hotel accommodations for our 2024 Annual Meeting! All others who have scored points will be entered into a drawing to win one of two Runner-Up Prizes - registration to the Annual Meeting. Each point serves as one entry into the drawing, so the more people you refer, the better your chances to win!

ONL Board of Directors ElectionMember Needs Assessment

All members are invited to participate in our 2024 Board of Directors Election by casting their vote. ONL's Board plays a critical role in leading and shaping the work we do at ONL, and this election is a way to ensure our members' diverse, important perspectives are brought together around the ONL Board table.

Our community-driven nomination process has identified talented nursing leaders within our membership who are committed to advancing ONL's mission and willing to serve on the Board. We are grateful to all of the leaders running for a board seat for their willingness to take on this additional responsibility and help lead our organization during a critical moment for nursing and health care.

The following positions are open for the 2024 election cycle:

  • President-Elect
  • Treasurer
  • State Representatives - Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Vermont

2024 Awards and Scholarship NominationsAwards and Scholarship Nominations

Each year, ONL recognizes outstanding nurse leaders in our region through our peer-nominated Awards and Scholarships. This is a special way to honor much-deserving nurse leaders across our region. We are excited to launch the 2024 call for nominations and hope you will consider nominating yourself or a colleague for an ONL award or scholarship. Please consider nominating yourself or a colleague today! Award and scholarship recipients will be recognized during our in-person Annual Meeting on June 13th in Newport, RI during our Member Reception and Awards Ceremony.

The call for nominations will be launched on Friday, March 8th, and the deadline for submission will be Monday, April 1st. Please stay tuned.

    The Mary B. Conceison Award for Excellence in Nursing Leadership recognizes outstanding contributions of a nursing executive.

    The Karen Kirby Award honors nurses who lead outside traditional roles, demonstrate an entrepreneurial approach, are recognized for innovation, have outcomes at the national and / or international levels, strategically support nursing leadership organizations, and generously provide support to colleagues.

    The Janet Madigan Advocacy Award recognizes excellence as a community advocate or political leader committed to supporting and advocating for the nursing profession and patient care.

  • Pamela Leigh Vecchiarino Nursing Leadership Award
    The Pamela Leigh Vecchiarino Nursing Leadership Award recognizes nurse leaders who are patient-focused change agents committed to improving outcomes. Honorees advance the profession, are compassionate, and serve as role models to others.

  • Marilyn Rinker Memorial Scholarship Award for Registered Nurses in Advanced Degree Programs
    The Marilyn Rinker Memorial Scholarship Award provides scholarship support for nurses pursuing an advanced degree with an emphasis on nursing leadership.

  • Laudio Outstanding Nurse Manager/Nurse Director Scholarship Award
    The Laudio Outstanding Nurse Manager/Nurse Director Scholarship recognizes nurse leaders that demonstrate strong leadership skills, support a continuous journey towards excellence, and exhibit promise for greater contribution and levels of responsibility. Recipients receive scholarship funds to exclusively for ONL's nurse leader development programs.

    The Sharon A. Smith Scholarship Award honors Sharon's legacy by developing nurse leaders and supporting their continued educational journey in nursing programs or advanced degree programs.

    The ONL/DAISY Nurse Leader of the Year Award recognizes a prior DAISY recipient for exceptional nursing leadership, demonstrating compassion and respect for the care clinical nurses provide, and fostering an environment where compassion and care are valued.
